How much does MexiVet Express charge for transporting my pet?

Your total vet appointment cost with MexiVet Express will vary depending on the type of treatment your pet needs. Many of the services our vets offer, such as dental cleanings and tumor removal surgeries, are often a fraction of the price you would pay in San Diego. Request an estimate for the specific service you’re looking for, and one of our knowledgable MexiVet Express team members will get back to you within 24-48 hours. Most inquiries will receive an immediate price estimate.

MexiVet Express transportation costs will vary depending on the duration of your appointment. Our base rate for half day appointments typically start at around $125 roundtrip, while full day appointments (appointments that require your pet undergo anesthesia) are around $250 roundtrip. Our base rate requires that you meet us at one of our designated meeting points for pick up and drop off. Our meeting points are:

We also offer door-to-door transportation! If you’d like at-home pickup let us know and we’ll include the additional cost in your quote.

MexiVet Express transportation rates:

Tier 1: $100

Any appointment lasting 10 minutes or less
Fast appointments and follow-ups such as stitches removal or vaccine update

Tier 2: $125 - $150

Any appointment lasting 15 minutes to 1 hour
Longer consultations, possibly including labs or imaging

Tier 3: $175 - $200

Any appointment lasting 1 to 3 hours
Longer consultations, possibly including multiple labs, imaging, and/or light sedation

Tier 4: $225 - $300

Any full-day appointment
An appointment that requires two MexiVet drivers to complete and spans the whole day, for example, dental cleaning, small tumor removal, or simple surgical procedure

Tier 5: $300 - $400

Any multi-day/overnight appointment
Larger surgeries or hospitalization requiring MexiVet transportation service over multiple days

Unexpected traffic, border wait times, and other delays may affect your final pricing tier

Same-day second opinions or consultations can be accommodated at the discretion of MexiVet personnel for an additional cost of $100.

Delivery:

Medication and miscellaneous deliveries: $25-$40*
Cremated remains: $50

*The medication delivery fee varies depending on how long it takes to source the medication from the vet or pharmacy. For example, non-urgent medication deliveries are often charged at the $25 rate, while urgent deliveries requiring special trips are usually charged at the $40 rate.

At-home pick up and drop off:

If you require at-home pick up and/or drop off for any of these services, an additional minimum charge of $15 will be applied each way. Actual charges vary by distance and drive-time, but you can always make use of our convenient meeting locations to avoid this additional charge.
